Issues with ASPECT model for simple subduction

Hi everyone,
I’m encountering an issue with negative temperature in my simulations involving dislocation creep or diffuse creep.

I’ve tried adjusting various parameters, but the problem persists. I’m hoping someone can provide guidance on what I should try next.
I’ve uploaded my .prm file, initial composition and temperature .txt file, and the log file for reference.

Additionally, I’m confused about the density profile, which seems incorrect, and I can’t identify which parameter might be causing the issue.

Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

I’m encountering an issue with negative temperature in my simulations involving dislocation creep or diffuse creep.

The screenshot you posted of the error message actually indicates that the issue is a negative pressure, which is on the order of -41 GPa … something is clearly off.

The solver convergence from the first time steps also shows that the model is new iterating towards a reasonable solution. One or more things is clearly off in the model setup.

I suggest checking the pressure field and prescribed boundary conditions as a first step.

Cheers,
John
