Rayleigh 1.3.0
Rayleigh is a 3-D convection code designed for the study of dynamo behavior in spherical geometry. New to v1.3.0:
- Coupled boundary conditions for different scalar fields
- CMake as an alternative to Rayleigh’s configure script
- Routines and notebooks for reading in checkpoint files

Pylith v5.0.1
PyLith is a finite-element code designed to solve dynamic elastic problems and quasi-static viscoelastic problems in tectonic deformation. This new full version (v5) contains many significant improvements, changes, and fixes. This includes major changes to:
- Mesh generation
- Journal channels
- Nondimensionalization
- Modular mesh initializations.

Nominations, CIG Director
As the end of the current phase of CIG approaches (January 31, 2028), CIG is soliciting nominations for the next Director to lead the next team and build on CIG’s leadership in computational geodynamics. Please see the prior post for more details. The deadline is July 15.
