2026 Ada Lovelace Workshop
The Ada Lovelace conference series, held biennially, brings together experts in modelling convection in the mantles of the Earth and other planets, and in lithosphere dynamics, along with colleagues from neighbouring disciplines, including the rheology of rocks and ice, seismology, and gravity studies. At this year’s conference, over 100 posters were presented. Congratulations to this year’s Student Poster winners from the CIG Community. Ranpeng Li (ASPECT, GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Germany) won the top award, with 2nd place going to Alan Yu (ASPECT-Fastscape, GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, Potsdam, Germany) and 3rd to Amita Anand (Georgia Tech).
Nominations, CIG Director
As the current phase of CIG approaches its end (January 31, 2028), CIG is soliciting nominations for the next Director to lead the next team and build on CIG’s leadership in computational geodynamics. Please see the prior post for more details. The deadline is July 15.
