Saving only properties of selected particles

Dear Aspect community,

I am currently running simulations with a lot of particles using the crystallographic preferred orientation (CPO) post processor. Ideally, I would like to save only very few of the particles as the CPO of each particle takes up a lot of space. Does there exist a way to mask particles in ASPECT by e.g. particle ID or location or is this something I will have to do in post processing?

Currently, the feature you describe in ASPECT does not exist (only output selected particles).

However, you can do the following as described in the subsection Postprocess / Particles documentation

  1. Exclude some particle properties from being output

  2. Change the frequency of how often the particles are output
