Program Director NSF/GEO/EAR Geophysics Program

Dear Colleagues,

The Division of Earth Sciences has announced a nationwide search for a permanent or temporary Program Director in the Geophysics Program, with particular emphasis on candidates with expertise in global and deep Earth studies. The Geophysics program supports basic research in the physics of the solid earth to explore its composition, structure, and processes using laboratory, field/observational, theoretical, and computational studies. Duties will also include management of the Cooperative Studies of Earth’s Deep Interior (CSEDI) Program.

The person selected for this position will work collaboratively with the other Program Directors who oversee the Geophysics Program to balance the award portfolio across a broad range of disciplines supported by the Program. The Program Director’s core duties and responsibilities will be administering the merit review process, proposal recommendations, identifying and supporting emerging trends in the sciences and coordinating and working with other programs in NSF and other Federal agencies.
