PhD Opportunities in Geodynamics at the University of Idaho

The Idaho Geodynamics Group (https://idahogeodynamics.weebly.com/) at the University of Idaho is seeking motivated students to fill two fully-funded PhD positions in computational/experimental Geodynamics. Students will use 2D and 3D numerical simulations and/or laboratory experiments to quantify how interactions between the solid mantle, the lithosphere, and hydrothermal and magmatic fluids affect the evolution of mid-ocean ridges and continental rifts. Applicants should have a strong background in mathematics and physics. An undergraduate degree in Geology or Earth Science related disciplines is not required. Application information and forms can be found at the following links for the University (https://www.uidaho.edu/admissions/graduate) and the Department of Geological Sciences (https://www.uidaho.edu/sci/geology/academics/graduate-program/application). Please direct further inquiries to Dr. Eric Mittelstaedt (emittelstaedt@uidaho.edu).
