Hi all,
For many of us it has been a while since we met at the ASPECT hackathon or at other meetings. In order to keep us all connected and also to give everyone else the opportunity to join our community we will continue our tradition of a virtual mini workshop in January. This is an informal opportunity to present latest feature additions, discuss interesting science applications, get to know other community members, and join ASPECT discussions (possibly in smaller breakout groups) between all users and developers. All of this will happen virtually organized via Zoom and Google Docs. The program is distributed over two days (Jan 31st / Feb 1st), which will only be filled part-day to leave people room to organize their daily routines and to make the schedule work for as many time zones as possible.
What?
ASPECT virtual user meeting, open to everyone interested in ASPECT
When?
Jan 31st / Feb 1st, virtually, 8 am - 1:30 pm Pacific time, preliminary schedule: ASPECT Online User Meeting 2023 Planning - Google Sheets
How to participate?
We will provide an Eventbrite event over at geodynamics.org for which you can register. After registration you will receive an email that also contains a link that will let you joint the meeting. Further information will be distributed in a later post in this forum thread.
How to present?
If you are interested in presenting, please leave a note in the google sheet under “Short presentations”, or send me a message until Friday Jan 13th. In case we have too many submissions we will have to select, based on balancing topic areas and relevance for the largest number of participants. Everyone will have the chance to prepare a 1 slide summary of themselves and their work, but we have only a limited number of time slots for 15 min short presentations.
I will post more information in this forum thread as it becomes available. Looking forward to reconnecting with many of you in 3 weeks.
Best,
Rene
