Dear colleagues,
Please consider submitting an abstract to our AGU 2024 session: DI001 - Advances in Deep Earth–Surface Interactions at the following link:
Earth’s surface and its interior are intricately linked, evolving together across diverse spatial and temporal scales. Observations at the Earth’s surface provide insights into the evolution and properties of the mantle and lithosphere, with internal dynamics significantly impacting surface environments and resource distribution.
We encourage submissions that examine the wide range of surface and solid Earth processes, focusing on (but are not limited to):
- Innovative approaches (e.g., laboratory experiments, numerical modeling) integrating diverse datasets (geological, geophysical, geochemical, biological) to study the coevolution of solid Earth and surface processes.
- How Earth’s interior dynamics influence surface phenomena (e.g., climate change, sea level changes, landscape evolution).
- Formation and distribution of natural resources (e.g., metals, minerals, brines), emphasizing the role of geodynamic processes in their genesis and accessibility.
- Inferring lithosphere and deep mantle properties within various tectonic environments.
The deadline to submit your abstract is 11:59 PM EDT on July 31, 2024.
