Research Software Engineering and Groundwater post-doctoral opportunities at the ANU's Research School of Earth Sciences

We are thrilled to announce two career opportunities within the G-ADOPT platform at the Australian National University’s Research School of Earth Sciences.

  1. Research Software Engineer (Technical Stream)
Work alongside myself, Dr Sia Ghelichkhan, Dr Angus Gibson and our G-ADOPT team in a three year position, with potential for permanency. This role supports both the Computational & Observational Geodynamics and Groundwater research groups and involves close collaboration with national and international software developers and the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI). Ideal candidates will have extensive software development experience in scientific environments, with expertise in finite element methods. Familiarity with Firedrake and PETSc are highly regarded. For more info contact rhodri.davies@anu.edu.au or siavash.ghelichkhan@anu.edu.au.

  2. Postdoctoral Position in Groundwater Research (Academic Stream)
Join our collaborative team, including Sia Ghelichkhan, myself, and the entire G-ADOPT team, in a dynamic role initially for two years, with the potential for a one-year extension. This position is focused on the numerical modelling of forward and inverse groundwater flow problems using Firedrake. This opportunity is perfect for candidates with a PhD in geophysical fluid dynamics, applied mathematics, or related fields, with strong finite element and HPC background.
