Hello CIG community!
We are looking for a postdoc to join GEOMAR’s Seafloor Modelling Group, which combines numerical models with different datasets to investigate the formation and evolution of the ocean floor, its role in the Earth System, and the responsible use of the seafloor as a source of energy and raw materials. The postdoctoral researcher will use his/her geoscientific expertise and excellent modelling as well as communication skills to contribute to ongoing projects in an international research environment and to explore independent research directions. Current research activities include multiphase Darcy flow as well as pore-scale Navier-Stokes simulations of high and low temperature seafloor alteration and large-scale geodynamic simulations of plate tectonic processes in the context of geohazards and seafloor resource formation.
