For those of you interested in open science, I wanted to highlight EarthArXiv (https://eartharxiv.org/) and a recent a recent article tracking its usage since inception in Fall 2017.
A few stats:
- The most common category submitted to are: Geology (136), Geophysics and Seismology (118), Geomorphology (86), Tectonics and Structure (80), and Sedimentology (79).
- The most common journals published in are here: https://github.com/ebgoldstein/BAtools/blob/master/EarthArXiv/Top_Journals.csv
with AGU journals accounting for 20% and GJI topping the list.
Interestingly enough, this mirrors where CIG related papers are published.
