2024 CODE-GEO applications open!

Hello!

Are you an undergraduate student with little to no coding experience, but who wants to learn? Or, do you know anyone who has these interests? If yes, the CODE-GEO program might be relevant!

CODE-GEO (Collecting Observations for Data Encoding in the Geosciences) is a week-long coding camp for undergraduate students from underrepresented groups in STEM with little to no coding experience, but who want to learn! Participants gain fundamental coding skills used in the geosciences and beyond. In CODE-GEO, we apply these skills to real-world volcanic hazards assessment. The 2024 program will be held March 11- 15, 2024 on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia.

If you are interested, please apply through this Google form.

Please send any questions to Dr. Stamps (she/hers) at dstamps@vt.edu. Applications will close January 19, 2024, and we will notify participants if they are chosen by February 2, 2024. More information can be found on the CODE-GEO website at: https://sites.google.com/vt.edu/codegeo/.

Best always,

Dr. Stamps, Karen, and Asenath
